Active Restricted Funds
Harriet Barlow Residency Fund — Established in 2017, this Residency honors Harriet Barlow's work. It will enable and celebrate annually not only a person but a concept central to her moral vision — the Commons — those natural gifts (i.e. air, water, wildlife) and social creations (i.e. libraries, scientific research, public spaces) that we share. Resident Support Funds — Founded in 2017 by generous BMC alumni and the Adirondack Foundation, this fund provides financial support to accepted applicants who require additional resources to participate in BMC's residency program. Learn more.
Annex Accessibility Fund — In the spring of 2018 we will begin construction to add a wheelchair accessible living space on our 117-year old property. The cottage attached to Harriet's Cottage, called the Annex, will be renovated inside and out to meet ADA codes. Donating to this fund will help make BMC more equitable and inclusive.
Blue Mountain Center is a non-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Your contributions enable us to continue to provide progressive writers, artists, and activists — free of charge — a peaceful and comfortable environment in which they can focus and relax, free from the distractions and demands of normal daily life. Donations to BMC are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
If you would like to discuss donating to BMC, contact Director Ben Strader at 518-352-7391 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
